Kingdom Keys: Love
I have been reflecting on the last year my wife and I spent in Bible College, I get sick when I reflect on the way it ended. We relocated our entire family from Colorado to follow God's call on our life which lead us here to Ohio, XXXX Bible College, attached to XXX Church. I can not name the Church / Bible College as I was forced to sign an agreement, stating that I would not talk about what I saw while I was employed there, in order to get my last pay check. So until I am relieved of this forced obligation, I will not identify the Church, as the identity of this Church is not important to my point anyway. But I can however talk about a situation that is grieving me greatly, christian Cannibalism. To my point: I must give some background.
Upon arrival, I took over as head of Security for the entire Ministry; three locations, eight buildings, and over 200,000 square feet of floors. I took over one week before a major conference, and over saw a total of four major conferences at this church. This ministry is known world wide. I got very close to the Pastoral staff and had to meet the Pastor (aka big guy) at his private jet late at night to escort the offerings that he received from his speaking engagement. I have never been treated so badly, never been treated like I was so insignificant, that I was during this time. I resigned after faithfully serving this man (even saving his life once), after five months. I was finally given an ultimatum to keep my job or continue attending the Bible College. I choose the Bible College.
Finally free from the Church, I decided to focus on the reason that we moved 1,200 miles for, the Bible College. Upon leaving the Church, I was asked to be the assistant Wrestling coach, a contract job, which required only four hours per day (hidden in the Wrestling gym). I did accept. I signed a contract for $1,000.00 that was payable in two $500.00 installments. The first installment date came and went with no payment, I called the Athletic Director who said that they were working on it. Then the second installment date came and went with no compensation (I had been coaching for over one month now and had not yet received the first installment), I again called the Athletic Director who said that the position had not yet been approved. The last thing I wanted was to cause problems, but I decided to contact my Attorney. After a series of negotiations, the Church finally paid me the first installment, but made me sign a second contract pushing the second installment date out two more months. Again, I did not want to smear the reputation of the Ministry, after all my wife and I were still attending the Bible College.
After being in class; observing the instructors operate as hypocrites, students willfully rebelling against the dress code with no ramifications, and emotionalism incited to get tithes and offerings, I decided that I could not be apart of this environment anymore. My wife and I pulled out of the Bible College. This was very hard for us because we had become close to many people at the College. There are many good, young and impressionable, Christians who are earnestly seeking God (blinded to the truth by the emotionalism) at this Bible College.
To my point: As soon as we pulled out of the College, all of our "friends", stopped returning our calls and will have nothing to do with us. Why is it that we Christians, who are supposed to operate in love, kill our own wounded? When Holly and I left, we said NOTHING. We were not negative, in fact, we only told two people that we were leaving because it effected them (we gave them rides). But now, as I was supposed to take a final exam today, I am sitting at my computer writing about Christian Cannibalism.
How can we be the remnant that God wants, when we kill our own, especially when they are hurt? I thought that the enemy was here to kill, steal, and destroy, not the Christian? Where has the LOVE gone in the Church, in the Bible College, in the Christian?
Don't be caught up in emotionalism, always test what you are taught against scripture and with the Holy Spirit (your Kingdom Compass). I do not care how big the Pastor's name or reputation is, if everything he / she is doing is not in 100% alignment with the Bible (99.9% is 100% false), it is false doctrine. If you sit under 99.9% teaching, you are stating that you agree with what is being taught.
I resolve to be a remnant, not a Christian...
